RXJ1347 meeting on 07/08/2006 in Bonn ------------------------------------- 1. Participants: Anja, Julia, Marusa, Patricia, Hendrik, Marco, Thomas, Holger, Tim, Aleksi 2. Short talks on the current status: - Thomas: available data for our studies (WFI, ACS, XMM, Chandra, VLT). Besids the data we have already at hand the CFHT archive contains deep g,r,i,z Megacam data (field-of-view is 1 square degree around the cluster !) that will be public at the 31st of August 2006. We need to check Subaru and Chandra archives for additional data we do not yet know about. - Marusa: short summary of her work on the cluster with weak and strong lensing. The major problem in her studies is the lack of clear strong lensing features. This prevents us from determining an accurate mass model in the cluster core. - Tim: Weak lensing studies in ACS data We need to establish a library of stellar fields for the F814W filter for PSF correction purposes - Julia: short summary of the X-Ray side. We need to talk about action items with Sabine 3. Work to be done in the near future: The major part of the meeting was concerned on the work that needs to be done in the next months in order to prepare Marco's spectroscopy run on FORS in March. Its purpose is to secure redshifts for arcs and other strong lens features. In detail the most important work to be done is the following. (The names in parentheses are the responsible people): - We need a detailed catalogue with optical properties from all galaxies around the cluster centre (6arcmin x 6arcmin). We should consider all objects up to I(AB)\approx 25.5 Necessary information includes: - Absolute photometry in all available bands - photo-z estimates - spectroscopic redshift if available - information on the cluster memebership of galaxies - dropouts from blue passbands - priority flag for spectroscopy (this needs to be decided once the catalogue with the above entries was studied and after we have a first strong lens model) (Hendrik, Thomas, Tim, Marco) - We need mixed FITS images containing information from ACS, VLT and WFI, i.e. one image having the highest resolution data at each pixel position. This is required for preparing spectroscopic masks. (Thomas) - We need a first strong lens model to identify strong lens features and to define priorities for spectroscopic follow-up (Aleksi, Marusa and students) 4. Work that should start in parallel is: - Establish a library of stellar templates for PSF corrections in the ACS data (Patricia, Tim) - Analyse the weak lens effect in WFI and CFHT data with the help of photo-z (Patricia, Marusa, Thomas, Anja, Hendrik) - Analyse the Chandra X-Ray data from Allen to check consistency with Myriams XMM results; exact procedure needs to be established with Sabine (Julia, Sabine) 5. Other issues: Bonn hosts a WWW page where we share data, catalogues and our results. For the time being, please send material that should be put on this side to me and I will put it online. If this turns out to be unfeasible we will install a CVS server that allows everybody to modify our repository. Each material has to be accompanied with a README file explaining its contents!!
